Four hundred twenty four-thousand, one hundred seventy-seven.

I’m not sure what these numbers mean anymore

Now that no lives matter

For a while, black lives mattered

And it was students for black lives

And moms for black lives

And Seniors for black lives

And everyone was for Black lives and BLM

And then they weren’t

And then the protesters were lumped with the rioters

And the rioters were lumped with the looters

And even though everyone denounced the crimes

Black lives didn’t matter anymore

For a while, children’s lives mattered

And it was feed the children

And it was pro-life and all lives mattered

And it was save the children

And then it wasn’t

And then it was no free lunch for children

And then it was children in cages

And then it was children torn from the safety of family

In a strange place

With strange words

And the children didn’t matter any more

And then they said blue lives matter

And then it was I support blue lives

And I support the thin blue line

But they said that wasn’t a thing

And they said Defund

And they said Abolish

And they worked to the word

And the word was not good

And the community fell

And the caring quelled

And the people ailed

And the country failed

Because no lives matter anymore.
